With 18 to go in the second Duel, J.J. Yeley saw his chances of making the Daytona 500 take a blow. Yeley (#54) had spent much of the race battling Timmy Hill for the final transfer spot into the '500' field, both getting drafting assistance from Corey Lajoie at intervals. Unfortunately, Yeley fell victim to an ill-timed bump draft from Lajoie on the backstretch, knocking Yeley into the outside wall.
