The 2020 Lucas Oil 200 was not even a lap old when the first incident of the day occurred. Running 5th, Andy Seuss (#02) mistimed a move to the inside line and was spun into the grass by David Gravel as the field entered Turn 3. Seuss spun back up the banking, just grazing Jason Fitzmiller (#97) enough to sending him into a spin. Scott Reeves (#88) and Eric Caudell (#7) came together while avoiding Seuss.
