1984  ยป Monaco Grand Prix

At the start of the race, Rene Arnoux and Derek Warwick went side-by-side for second place coming into Ste. Devote. Arnoux forced Warwick wide; the wet conditions slipping Warwick into the tire barrier. The car sat cockeyed in front of the tightly-packed field when Renault teammate Patrick Tambay crashed into the side of Warwick, taking both of them out.

Once the field had scrambled clear of the incident the two Renault pilots emerged, with Warwick the first out with no serious injuries. Tambay, however, had to be carried from the car by the marshals; the heavy impact having caused a major suspension piece the pierce the cockpit and break the Frenchman's left fibula.
