With 15 laps to go, Scott Pruett hit the outside wall coming off of Turn 2, slid across the track and hit the inside wall. The rear of the car bounced up and caught the inside catchfence, shearing off the rear suspension and sending Pruett spinning wildly to a stop in the backstretch grass. Pruett walked away unhurt.
