On Lap 136, Dale Jarrett (#88) was tapped from behind by team-mate Kenny Irwin Jr. coming through Turn 3. Jarrett spun down the apron and back up the track, right in front of oncoming traffic. About a dozen drivers piled into the resulting crash scene; Jarrett himself barrell-rolling twice after being hit once again by Elliott Sadler (#21). No one was injured.
