During the 50th lap, Geoff Bodine spun out of control in Turn 4 after slipping in a trail of oil left by Terry Labonte's blown engine. Bodine's Pontiac climbed the hill over the infield tunnel entrance and went over then bank, sending photographers scattering in all directions to avoid the out-of-control car, before coming to a stop after hitting a wagon belonging to Orlando-based news station WFTV-9. No spectators or photographers were injured, and Bodine would return to the race shortly after.
