Description Young driver Patrick Reichrath suffered a fatal accident in a practice session for the 11th edition of the Course de Côte de Abreschviller, held sometime in 1981. Some five hundred meters before the finish line Reichrath's Alpine A110 Renault left the pavement, flipped slideways and crashed against a large tree some seven meters below the road level. The roll-bar of the car did not stand the crash, trapping the driver inside the vehicle, that had its roof crushed by the impact. Patrick Reichrath perished at the spot.
