While Kevin Harvick edged out Mark Martin to the checkered flag by inches, the spectacular finish was nearly overshadowed by an equally spectacular wreck occurring behind them. Coming off of Turn 4, Kyle Busch (#5) broke loose as he raced alongside Matt Kenseth (#17) for third place. Both cars spun, causing a chain reaction pileup behind them as the field headed to the start/finish line, a wreck that would stretch all the way past the tri-oval. Greg Biffle (#16) spun to the inside and bounced off the side of David Gilliland, sending him back up the track and into the side of Clint Bowyer (#07). The impact pitched Bowyer's Chevy onto its roof, sliding all the way down the tri-oval and past the checkered flag before righting itself in the grass. Bowyer miraculously walked away unhurt, as did the rest of the drivers involved.
